This is the true story of Roger Kynard "Roky" Erickson, former frontman for the 13th Floor Elevators and inventor of "psychedelic" music in the 1960s. However, to avoid jail after a pot bust, Roky was sent to a mental institution and slowly became mentally unstable himself. Living as a shut-in for the past 12 years, Roky's brother Sumner finally tries to break his sibling out of his hermit-like existence.
