Gavin Gore (Jeremy Sumpter) and his friends find giant footprints around Deer Cliff Falls and automatically assume they were made by Bigfoot. Facing ridicule from the town bullies, Gavin nevertheless informs the media about his find and sets out to prove that the prints are really from the legendary creature. Meanwhile, Gavin's dimwitted neighbor Zerk (Justin Long) tries to capitalize on the media frenzy by selling plaster casts of the prints while a famous Bigfoot specialist, Dr. Artimus Snodgrass (Carl Weathers) appears to set the facts straight.
