Chicago architect Leo Waters's (Anthony LaPaglia) comfortable life is shattered when an activist for the poor (Viola Davis) begins hounding him for having designed a substandard housing project many years before. With her home falling down around her ears, she begs Leo to sign a petition that will demolish the rat-infested hellhole and put up livable — and affordable — housing.
