This documentary profiles the controversial French lawyer Jacques Vergés, who has spent his life defending terrorists of all stripes. After representing Algerian separatist Djamila Bouhired — and losing her case — Vergés mysteriously disappeared from public view for almost a decade. When he returned, he once again picked up his fight for those who hope to achieve political victory through violence, such as the legendary assassin Carlos the Jackal and Nazi lieutenant Klaus Barbie.
