In the 1980s, Will Proudfoot (Bill Milner) is forbidden to watch any movies anywhere. But after his new best friend, Lee Carter (Will Poulter), shows him a bootleg copy of First Blood, the two kids become obsessed with making their own film. Then, when a French exchange student (Jules Sitruk) comes to town and effectively takes over production, the two boys need to figure out how they can finish their own movie on their own terms.
