This biopic is based on the true story of Albert Pierrepoint (Timothy Spall) who was Britain's most famous hangman. After entering the family "business" in 1934, Albert lives a double-life as a mild-mannered deliveryman and the man who put the noose around the Nazi war criminals convicted at the Nuremberg Trials. It's during these high-profile executions when Albert's secret identity is revealed to the entire nation.
