In 1938, Guinevere Pettigrew (Frances McDormand) is a governess who gets fired from one job and goes to work for a famous actress, Delysia Lafosse (Amy Adams). However, Miss Pettigrew's work isn't very glamorous, especially when it involves covering up Delysia's affairs.
