A Brazilian wife and mother returns home to the small village where she grew up after living in the big city for a few years. However, after paitiently waiting for her husband to join her, she eventually realizes that he's never going to come and that she and her baby have been abandoned. Starting up a new relationship with an old boyfriend, the lonely woman realizes she'd be better off if she just left everybody and everything behind and plans to start fresh somewhere, anywhere new.
