A happily married Irishman, Stewart (Gabriel Byrne), who now lives in Australia goes on a typical fishing trip with his buddies. While out on the river, the men come across the body of a dead girl, but fail to report their discovery until they return home several days later. Stewart's wife (Laura Linney) is so horrified by her husband's actions that she begins to question their entire relationship.
