Marc Anthony stars as Hector Lavoe, the real-life Spanish-language singer who achieved major success in the 1970s by bringing salsa music into the mainstream. Alas, like most musicians, Lavoe suffered a terrible drug addiction (heroin) that eventually lead to his early demise. Anthony's real life wife, Jennifer Lopez, also stars as Lovoe's muse and main squeeze.
