John Hume (Kevin Bacon) is living the good life: nice job, nice family and his son Brendan (Stuart Lafferty) is about to start a professional hockey career. But then one fateful night at a convenience store, Brendan is killed during a hold-up and after some legal wrangling his killer gets to walk free. So, John takes revenge for his boy's murder on himself, which places the rest of his family in dire jeopardy.
