In 1970s-era France, Anna (Nina Kervel) is a precocious nine-year-old girl who is much smarter than her years and does very well at her Catholic school. She also enjoys her nice orderly life with her mom (Julie Depardieu) and dad (Stefano Accorsi). But her home is thrown into turmoil when her Communist aunt and uncle from Spain come to visit and her parents believe they are revolutionaries, too.
