In 1968, Ben Sweet (Nick Roth) is old enough to get drafted into the Vietnam war, but he avoids being sent overseas by enrolling at UC Berkeley. Although Ben enters college naive about politics, through sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll he becomes a passionate activist in trying to stop the war, much to the chagrin of his moderate father (Henry Winkler).
